Storm Damage Restoration

When the storm hits, we're already dispatched.

24-hour response for hail, wind, and ice-dam damage. Drone documentation within hours, emergency tarping the same day, and a claim file built to pay — not one built to argue.

Damage Types

Hail, wind, ice — the Midwest trio.

Chicago-to-Milwaukee gets hit with a different storm each season. Spring hail runs 1.0" to 2.5"+ and pocks shingles, gutters, and siding. Summer straight-line wind peels edges and lifts flashing. Winter ice-damming pries up shingles and drives water backwards into the sheathing. Each damages a different layer of the wall system — and each has a different documentation burden under a carrier's claim rules.

  • Hail impact — shingle granule loss, gutter dents, siding pocks
  • Straight-line wind — lifted edges, blow-off, flashing separation
  • Tornado & microburst — structural, debris impact, partial collapse
  • Ice-damming — water intrusion behind eaves, sheathing rot
  • Tree impact — structural repair and emergency stabilization
  • Lightning & fire — full tear-off and carrier coordination
First Visit Protocol

Four things we do on the first visit.

Drone up within 2 hours. The first visit sets the claim. If the evidence isn't captured before cleanup, the carrier has no obligation to pay.
01 · Dispatch

Emergency tarping

If the roof is open, we tarp same-day. Secured with battens, not just weights. Keeps interior damage from compounding.

02 · Document

Drone flyover

Every slope photographed at 50' AGL with the sun at our back. Timestamped, geo-tagged, archived to the cloud.

03 · Inspect

Interior moisture check

Attic, ceilings, top-floor walls scanned with a thermal camera. Wet insulation flagged before it becomes mold.

04 · Scope

Line-by-line loss report

Written in Xactimate — the same language the adjuster uses. Emailed to you and to the carrier within 48 hours.

Supplement

Thermal detection

Infrared imaging to find wet insulation that looks dry from the attic hatch. Often turns up 2–3x the original scope.

Evidence

Cloud archive

Every photo, measurement, and report stored under your address forever. Useful if the claim re-opens years later.

Our Discipline

We don't just repair.
We document the loss.

The difference between a paid claim and a denied one isn't the damage — it's the documentation. We're not a "public adjuster" and we're not a law firm. We're the contractor who shows up with the drone, the camera, and the Xactimate file already open.

Documentation

Photo + video loss package

Every slope, every flashing, every interior water stain. Delivered as a PDF package to you, your mortgage company, and the adjuster.

  • High-res drone imagery, timestamped
  • Ground-level wind & siding detail
  • Interior ceiling and wall photos
  • Attic moisture and thermal scan
  • Inventory of affected personal property
Negotiation

Adjuster meeting on site

We meet the adjuster on the roof with the photos, the spec book, and the Xactimate estimate open. Disputes resolved in real time, not in a phone-tag loop.

  • Scope supplement for missed line items
  • Code upgrade coverage filed properly
  • Depreciation recovery documented
  • Mortgage-company check routing handled
  • Final invoice matches approved scope
Frequently Asked

Storm damage FAQ.

Do I need a lawyer or public adjuster?
In most cases, no — and lawyers and public adjusters take 15–40% of your claim. What you need is a contractor who documents correctly and speaks Xactimate. We do both. If the claim genuinely needs legal escalation, we'll tell you and refer someone we trust.
How fast can you respond to emergency damage?
Emergency tarping: same-day within the service area. Drone inspection: typically within 24 hours. Scope and claim filing: 48 hours. We hold crew capacity for existing customer emergencies.
Who pays the deductible?
You do. Anyone who offers to "eat the deductible" or "pay it for you" is committing insurance fraud — in Illinois and Wisconsin both. We don't. Your deductible comes out of your settlement check; we collect the balance.
What if the adjuster denies the claim?
We supplement. Most denials are for specific line items, not the whole claim — missed vents, incorrect shingle tier, code-upgrade exclusions. We file a supplement with photo evidence and usually get the denied items reinstated.
Can you work with my mortgage company?
Yes. Claims over $10k typically require the mortgage company's endorsement on the check. We handle the W-9, lien waiver, and completion certification that their construction-draw department requires.
How long do I have to file a claim after a storm?
Most IL and WI policies require filing within 12 months, though the specific window is in your policy. Damage from a specific storm date is still claimable today if you're inside that window — and we can pull historical hail and wind maps to corroborate the date.
